iRiver’s new model U10 is not your average MP3 player. The unit is really “2 steps forward” from the current market as the company suggests.

First, it is a very simple but very elegant and stylish looking gadget. It doesn’t have any buttons except for power switch and volume control. It uses a new easy interface “iriver D-Click System,” in which you just click the four sides of the screen for commands.

Second, the player is filled with loads of functions. Not only can you listen to MP3s and radio, and record with built-in microphone like any other iriver products, you can now view photos and texts with this unit. The player is also compatible with macromedia Flash Lite 1.1 (first of its kind in the MP3 player market), so you can play games on it. It is capable of playing movies (MPEG-4 files) as well. And last but not least, it functions as an alarm clock.

In the picture shown above, the player is put in the cradle, which comes with a built-in speaker for your listening pleasure. The remote control is on the side.

The unit weighs 69 grams with dimension of 69(W) x 47(D) x 16(H) mm. It comes in two sizes: 512MB and 1GB.
