Look at the redesigned iPod nano. The new nano features a small but crisp 1.5-inch display with 240 x 240 resolution. Not only does the nano weigh just .74 ounces, it??™s made of sturdy aluminum, making it an ideal exercise companion. Apple lets you rotate the display with a two-finger gesture so you??™re always looking at menus and content the right way no matter how you attach it to your body. For starters, the nano no longer captures video. For that capability you??™ll have to step up to the $229 iPod touch. You also can??™t play video on this device as you could with the last-gen iPod nano. Then again, we don??™t think anyone would want to watch movies or TV shows on this stamp-size screen.

To use a mp3 palyer in your car or other vehicle, use a vehicle mount. They are easy to install and provide quick access to your player.

Clean the area of your window where you will install the mount. Spray the windshield with a window or glass cleaner and wipe with a paper towel.

Place the suction cup on the windshield, making sure it does not create a blind spot. Press down to produce suction.

Insert your mp3 player into the mount holder. Adjust so you can read the screen clearly while still paying attention to the road. Most mp3 player mounts have a swivel feature for easy adjustment.

Clear away dust from your dashboard using a soft cloth. A disposable dusting cloth works well. If the mount you have chosen attaches to the air vents, clean those as well.

Choose the placement of the mp3 player mount by holding it up to multiple areas of the dashboard. The internal antenna needs a clear view of the sky to receive signals. Make sure your view of the road is not impeded.

Remove the double sticky tape from the bottom of the mp3 player or laptop car mount. Try to avoid contact with dirt or dust.

Place the base of the mount on the spot you have chosen. Press down to adhere the base to the dashboard.
Fit your player into the mount holder. Swivel the holder around while experimenting with a variety of angles. Find a placement that is comfortable to use and allows you to drive safely.

For businesses that deal in telecommunications or other industries having a high quality UPS battery backup is essential. Every business should have at least one ups battery tester that can make sure that the system is running on full power and is ready to go at anytime you may need it. Businesses can choose from one of three different kinds of backup supplies. It doesn’t matter what type of system a business chooses as long as it fits the application they need it for.

The ups battery tester should always be used regularly to make sure that the UPS system is functioning and is ready to go when needed. An offline UPS battery backup system stays dormant until the power goes out and then it instantly turns on and redirects its own battery power to the original source to protect data and keep your critical systems online.

Sitting around for a long time means that if something is wrong with the unit or if the battery is not holding a charge then no one will know that until the critical moment when the power is needed and by then it will be too late.

Using an offline UPS battery backup can be a more economical option for businesses than using an online or line-interactive UPS battery backup through their entire location, so it makes sense that most small businesses or start up businesses go for an offline UPS battery backup system at first. Remember it is very important to have your RBC7 battery backup system tested regularly and this is something you can do in house or sub out to a testing company. Regular testing of the system should be done according to a schedule.

A smart and simple way to keep track is to write on a calendar each date that the backup system should be tested and then when the battery tester has finished the testing process that person can make a big red “X” through the date so it’s clear when the test was done.

Video-game retailer GameStop has decided to stop selling Microsoft’s Zune players at its stores due to what it sees as insufficient demand from customers.

“We have decided to exit the Zune category because it just did not have the appeal we had anticipated,” said a GameStop spokesperson. “It (also) did not fit with our product mix.” GameStop made the decision about a month ago. GameStop said it will sell Zune players online until it clears out its inventory.

GameStop has hundreds of stores across the country and losing that distribution channel could hurt Zune sales. Many of GameStop’s customers are avid users of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console and could have presented a cross-selling opportunity for Microsoft.

Microsoft said that the Zune player continues to be carried by other retailers. “We have a set of great partnerships that give Zune a strong presence at retail including Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart and others,” said Adam Sohn, director of marketing for Zune, in a statement. “We will continue to invest in retail partnerships and have seen good momentum online and at retail over the last few months.”

The decision to stop selling Zunes took a toll on the company’s margins in the first quarter. Gross margins for the quarter were 26.1%, down from 27.2% the same quarter year before, reported GameStop on Thursday.

Scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS say the new HD-AAC codec delivers better-than-CD-quality sound in file sizes that are small enough to be offered online – like on Apple’s iTunes Store, for example.

The codec is based on MPEG-4 SLS – a scalable lossless format. HD-AAC enables you to enjoy high quality 24-bit / 96KHz files on a home media server, for example, and then use the base version (called the AAC-LC layer) of the same file to play back on an iPod or other AAC player. There’s no need for you to rip different versions of your music at different codecs for different devices.

The Fraunhofer Institute says that future devices – like iPods – may also be able to play back the full lossless audio files once they’re equipped with suitable decoders. It even says that because HD-AAC is scalable you can use it to fire files over a network, with the file size scaled depending on the amount of available bandwidth. Handy for wireless multi-room audio streams, for example.

The arrival of HD-AAC could also spell good news for Apple’s rivals – Sony, Creative and others also offer AAC playback on their portable audio players.
