Remember old guy Commodore? Today Commodore go back to the good old days and anounced their new MP3 player, called Mpet II. The Mpet II is a pocket-sized portable MP3 player that supports both MP3 and WMA playbacks. Its DRM compatible (if you want to download music legally). It also operates as a voice recorder and USB storage device and use of only one AAA battery battery life, with almost 15 hours playback.

Available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB sizes.

Look at the Trekstor Vibez – the MP3 player with fresh design. Its 10cm length, a width 18mm and rounded scroll wheel and screen. Vibez playback in most major formats, the e280 has storage capacity of 8GB or 15GB, or roughly 4,200 tracks in the bigger version.

In addition, there’s an optional FM tuner card for radio, a DJ mode, a cross-fading button to blend together your tunes and a full colour TFT display. The rechargeable lithium ion battery offer you 20 hours playback per charge. The Trekstor Vibez should be available later this year, priced at 199 Euros for the 8GB model or 229 Euros for the 15GB player.

Apple Computer will pay around $100 millions to Creative for a paid-up licence to use the company’s patent in all Apple products. It’s a final of MP3 patent technology war with Creative Technology. Creative had confirmed that Apple’s MP3 players infringed upon its MP3 patents.

“We’re very pleased to have reached an amicable settlement with Apple and to have opened up significant new opportunities for Creative,” said Sim Wong Hoo, CEO of Creative.

The Dell Computers will stop making portable MP3 players. DJ Ditty, last Dell’s MP3 player, was removed from company’s web site. “We’re tightening our consumer focus in core areas like PCs, printers and TVs because we believe the PCs are the hub of digital entertainment.”

The Dell’s line of MP3 players was launched in 2003, but never really took a large piece of the market. Amen!

MP3playermaker SanDisk cut prices across its e200 line of MP3 players and unveiled a new high-end model, the e280.

Priced at $249.99, the e280 has storage capacity of 8GB, or roughly 2,000 songs. At the low end of the line, the 2GB e250 MP3 player now costs $139.99. The e200 models have a 1.8-inch screen and feature a digital FM tuner and voice recorder.

Creative has announced a new ZEN Neeon 2 MP3 player. The new MP3 player have a new colour screen and changeable creative Stik-On covers.

Measuring 81mm x 42mm x 12.5mm and weighing only 50g, this player will come in either 4GB, 2GB or 1GB of memory capacities, and feature a built-in FM tuner, voice recorder, line in recording and a 1.5-inch colour display for users to view both photos and videos.
