Lenovo Easy Cube MP3 Player

The Lenovo Easy Cube M500 is a new MP3 player with 2 3/4 inches on all sides and with a built-in speaker on the side. The Easy Cube M500 has no display and storage is strictly handled through any SD cards you have lying around the house, but at $50 the Lenovo makes a reasonable impulse buy.

DATA Code M sneakers

Dada Footwear Company is launching a wireless footwear system called “Code M”. The Code M System delivers both audio and data—through your sneakers! We saw an MP3 player in a sportwear, in a swiss knife. Now it’s sneakers!

The Code M System is integrated into the basketball sneaker’s heel and tongue. It can hold up to 100 songs, running on a 6-hour battery life. To transfer songs onto the system, just use the USB port on the side of the shoe. To listen to your music, use the included wireless headset, which picks up the music playing from your sneakers up to 30 feet away.

FRITZ! Mini MP3 player

German company AVM just announced their new FRITZ! Mini. This device combines a cordless phone and MP3 player with an information service allowing you to view news, weather, and sports reports on the color display. Well the handset will also alert you to incoming emails and text messages though how they accomplish the latter is a bit unclear. See, the 802.11g WiFi enabled FRITZ!Box is the key, it acts as a base station and information hub for the Mini by streaming music, information, and both VoIP or fixed-line calls directly to the handset. It doesn’t appear though, that the !Box packs any storage it’s own damned self, but you can slip in a Memory Stick or connect any MP3 player with USB support for playback to the Mini.

MobiBlu for marathon-runners

Mobiblu

MobiBLU lunch a MP3 player for marathon-runners: the DAH-1900. The player’s awesome 150 hour life. It’s the longest MP3 player in the world!

There is, however, a catch – the player only has 2GB of storage. Working on the assumption that your tunes are saved as 128Kbps MP3s and you happen to enjoy four minute-long pop ditties, that means you’re looking at around 20 hours of tunes. Or, in other words, you’ll end up listening to the same Coldplay album roughly seven times before the player needs recharging.

With its silky black finish and bright yellow and blue OLED display, the DAH-1900 looks quite appealing in a chunky, retro kind of way. It may resemble an old school Walkman, but at 2.1cm x 4.5cm, it’s a fraction of the size.

The stamina-tastic player also has direct encoding, FM radio, FM recorder and voice recording. It supports WMA files with DRM - so you can downloads from Napster, Virgin et al - and has an alarm, sleep timer and the usual USB 2.0 socket.
